Homemade Goodness

LOVING the simplicity of pulling home canned tomatoes off the pantry shelf to form the basis of a delicious, nourishing soup for lunch.  Fast, easy and oh so delicious served with warm bread right out of the oven.  Of course, any soup is going to taste mighty fine in a newly thrifted near mint condition (circa 1970's ?) Descoware enamelled cast iron pot ~ oh yes, indeed.

And to top it all off, said soup served with reversible napkins made by me during a recent flurry of sewing really takes the cake.

I'm smitten with all this mustardy yellow ~ it almost feels like Spring!

  3. Lucky you on the thrifted enamel pot. It is the perfect size for soup. There is nothing like a bowl of homemade soup, warm bread, and a winter day!

  6. Sounds just the thing for a warming winter meal. Very impressed with the tomatoes - we didn't get many at all last year. Hopefully this year will be better and we'll have enough left to store, it must taste so much nicer - especially when cooked in the fabulous pot!
